You Have to Lose your Vision to See

I've worn glasses for some time now. Some people wear them to be fashionable and others like myself need them because they cannot see. During my recent eye exam, the doctor presented me with different types of lenses and asked me through which ones I could see better. What I began to realize is that I can see better with some help. I was looking at E's and reading them as C's or O's thinking they were Q's. Clearly I could not see! Just like those lenses, we need the Lord to clearly see. Until we fully trust God we can read our lives all wrong. We get stuck at roadblocks in life and think that's all God has for us.

We become comfortable in the discomforts of life and think, well, this is just how life is going to be. We make monuments out of moments that oftentimes God is using for others to see just how strong and how much integrity we really have. We start to wonder what we did wrong and believing we are deserving to stay where we are because of mistakes we have made but the devil is a liar!! In the book of Job you will see that Job got so exasperated with his condition of life that he began to curse the very day he was born, not only his birth but even his very conception. My God!

You may have low points in life were you feel like why me? What did I do to deserve this? God why are you doing this to me? God would say to you, that I my child, have some questions for you. Do you see what I see? Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth, commanded the morning to appear or caused the daylight to spread to the ends of the earth? How do you question what I have predestined for your life? You need to lose your vision so you see. You have to stop looking at your life as a mistake, failure, or dead-end and see what God sees. One only accepts life to be doom when you are not seeing with God's eyes. Like my exam, you not seeing things as they are. You need the help of God to see! Many times we have lived off of the God, we heard about through others but I believe

God is about to cause you to lose your vision so you can see! I had only heard about you before, but now I have seen you with my own eyes. (Job 42:5) NLT
